The beautiful San Juan mountains in South-Western Colorado

A July afternoon at 14,000 feet on Mount Bierstadt.  This is one of many popular day-hikes in Colorado.  There are 52 peaks above 14,000 feet in Colorado.  Some are difficult technical climbs but many are simply strenuous hikes possibly with a little scrambling over the rocks.  A few have improved and maintained trails for a portion of the route.
